高蒙发行时的大幅删减显然伤害到了这部本就不长的电影，核心人物Dainah的塑造很难构成一个完整的角色。魔术表演的光影处理神秘感颇佳。格莱米永对种族主义的尖锐讽刺在化装舞会一幕表现得淋漓尽致，一张张丑陋的面具反而成了灵魂的真实写照。同时对轮机舱的俯拍展示形象地强调了阶级的存在。
